LAWDEX

What you can do with Lawdex

Lawdex brings your matters, court diary, tasks, finances, documents, messaging and meetings into one workspace. Here is what each part is for.

Each part of Lawdex

  • Case registry and court diary

Keep every matter in one place with its parties, court, judge and next date. The court diary shows what is coming up so nothing is missed, and each matter keeps a record of every hearing and adjournment.

  • Document vault

Every matter has its own secure vault for filings, evidence and drafts. Open and read documents right inside Lawdex without downloading them, or download when you need to.

  • Tasks and workflow

Assign work to colleagues with deadlines, track what is pending or done, and attach the finished work to the task. Everyone sees the tasks that matter to them.

  • Financials

Record fees and expenses against matters and see clear totals and analytics for your practice. Available to administrators and partners, and called Money on Solo.

  • Property and rent management

For practices that manage property: keep landlords, properties and tenancies together, record rent by the period so the next-due date advances automatically, serve statutory notices, and get escalating reminders before a rent renewal or notice lapses. Post legal and agency fees to Financials, and print a rent roll or per-tenant statement.

  • Team messaging

A private, realtime chat for chambers and firms. Reply to a specific message, share files and photos, and jump back to the message being replied to.

  • Video meetings

Schedule a meeting with an agenda and attendees, then meet over video inside Lawdex. Everyone invited gets a reminder. Meetings are on Plus and Pro, for chambers and firms.

  • AI tools

On Plus and Pro, summarise long documents in seconds and generate drafts from Nigerian templates, grounded on your own uploaded laws and precedents.

  • Legal Arena

A friendly legal trivia game to sharpen knowledge. Play solo or challenge a colleague to a duel, and climb the leaderboard.

  • Works on any device

Lawdex installs like an app on your phone or computer and works in the browser too, so your workspace is always with you.

More questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. Lawdex opens in the web browser on any phone, tablet or computer, so you visit lawdex.app and sign in. You can also add it to your home screen or desktop, so it opens in its own window with its own icon. There is nothing to download from an app store. The guide Install Lawdex on your phone or computer shows the steps for each device.

What does installing it as an app give me?

Lawdex opens in its own window without the browser bars, starts from your home screen or dock, and can send you notifications about task assignments, comments and hearing reminders even when it is closed. It still updates itself, so you are always on the latest version.

Will it work offline?

No. Lawdex needs an internet connection to load your live data, because your records are kept in the cloud and shared in real time with the people you work with. Installing it makes it open faster, but viewing and editing matters still needs a connection.

How do push notifications work, and are they private?

After you install Lawdex and turn on notifications in Settings, your device can alert you about assignments, comments and reminders. On iPhone and iPad, Apple requires a web app to be on the home screen before it can send notifications, so add Lawdex there first. A notification only carries a short prompt to open the app. The details stay behind your sign in.

Can my colleagues use it, and will they see everything?

On Chambers and Firm, colleagues join with a secure invite link and each person sees only what their role allows. In a chambers, partners have full access and one secretary keeps the diary. In a firm, associates see the matters and tasks assigned to them, while money and team management stay with partners and administrators. Solo is for one lawyer, and you can move to Chambers or Firm when you take someone on.

What if I forget my password or get locked out?

Use the “Forgot password?” link on the sign in page and we will email you a reset link. For anything else, your workspace administrator can help, or you can contact us directly.

Step by step help for each device is in Install Lawdex, and every other guide is on the guides page.
